It baffles me when people try to act as if changing who you are is a bad thing.
They mock you and say, “Ooh you’ve changed!” When this happens, say that’s the point. We are not meant to be the same forever, at some point, we must grow.
When I’m approached with the you’ve changed speech, I simply say thank you, because I know where I’ve been and how far I’ve come because I made changes.
Most people want to be considered as 100%, they never changed, they always been the same person and to them, this seems good and it can be. You can have good qualities and a beautiful personality that you may not want to change but as a person being 100% with ourselves is more important.
Who I was between 19-25 years old, I never want to be her again, so I changed. I changed the way I carried myself, my behaviors, my spirituality and so much more! I no longer act the way I once did, because I grew up and had my breakthrough where enough is enough.
I don’t care if people say I that I’ve changed because I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming. Don’t let others’ opinions of you keep you from elevating. Change is a beautiful thing and nothing to feel guilty about.
I prayed every day and night for years for God to change me, change my heart, rid what’s in my life that doesn’t belong, and make me whole. All those prayers, keeping my faith, trusting the Lord, and putting in the work, even when it was hard and I felt like giving up, God helped change me to do better.
Don’t be afraid of change, it can be scary and uncomfortable but it is worth it all.
Tamela Mann said it best: “Change me, oh God
Make me more like You
Change me, oh God
Wash me through and through
Create in me a clean heart
So that I may worship You”
I leave you with love, peace, positivity, and happiness. Namaste.
Correct, we have to change at some point. I agree with you 👍🙂
