Tree Pose & It’s Benefits

To start, tree pose is one of my favorite yoga poses. To assume that because this pose looks rather easy you wouldn’t expect the amazing benefits that come with it.

To begin in tree pose stand straight with a tall elongated back with your feet touching one another. Take a few breaths and find an object to focus on, then slowly begin to shift your weight to your right leg & lift your left foot to place the sole with the inside of the right thigh. Your toes should be pointed down with pelvis straight.

Reach your arms towards the sky with your palms pressed together to form a “v” shape. You could also have hands placed at the heart center like prayer hands. Hold this pose for 5 breaths. The more you practice the longer you will be able to hold the pose.

Repeat steps on the opposite leg.

Tree pose is my favorite because it has taught me patience, balance, and a sense of peace. These are things that you can apply to your everyday life to help cope or assist with anything you’re going through. Yoga has taught me so much about myself and a lot that I didn’t know. It’s taught me to endure even when I’m in pain or feel like giving up, I focus on my breath and all of the positive things that happen in my life. It’s taught me to let go of the past and move on. It’s taught me that I’m actually stronger than what I think. I want others to discover this feeling, the feeling that you don’t have to allow your mind to control you, you don’t have to let anxiety win. You have the power and strength to overcome anything, all you have to do is change your mindset and believe in yourself.

When doing tree pose you will notice that your balance will improve. It strengthens while toning both legs all the way to your glutes. Yes ladies it will perk up your butt, making it look amazing!! It also builds self confidence and self esteem.

Well I hope you all enjoyed this post and give tree pose a try!! Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions.

Success! You're on the list.
